The other 7 tracks are not bad obviously, with that spaceous pretty sound and vested singing.įor the longest time I couldnt fathom why it was a fan favourite, but on reflection its an undeniably passionate piece of music and contains within it some of Devins most memorable vocals. ![]() When I first heard this album, its highly focused sound was a turn off and it all blended together for me, and its definitely not the most adventurous record from Townsend, but still very solid. Suicide is one of the standouts on this album with its cathartic refrains.Īway is a soundscape instrumental song and the track following it Sunday Afternoon brings an ethereal vibe similar to Townsends Ocean Machine album.Īfter all the rage and darkness, Accelerated Evolution ends on an upbeat note. Random Analysis more all of its technical prowess, has an obnoxious chorus. The opener Depth Charge is rage-hungry while Storm is more contemplative. ![]() it is a very typical Devin Townsend album but the songwriting and production is very solid. It seemed like the most middle-the-road collection of songs Townsend could produce. ![]()
